The Olgas! Did you get any shots at sunset? One of my few decent photos in the world was taken here.

I'd like to see your shot! I came back at sunset but the problem with both Uluru and The Olgas is that if you want vegetation as foreground (and if you have no decent clouds to speak of for a week, like me, you really do) you will find your own shadow in the picture because the viewing areas are almost due west. I tried to find a spot where this wasn't an issue but the 'no bushwalking' rule was a major hindrance and was strictly enforced. I had park rangers come out at least five times to drag me out. Once, and I'm not kidding, i was no more than six feet in, just past the tatty roadside weeds trying to frame a beautiful clump of spinifex. No go, a ranger appeared out of nowhere within minutes as I waited for the sun to come out from behind the cloud and I was told to take 'just a few steps back'...
